Breeze and a background..

Hello everyone!

I'm back after a little break, we've just had a fabulous holiday in Dorset, what a beautiful county that is!  We did lots of walking and ate several very good cream teas!

I was so happy to recently be asked to contribute to Creative Stamping Magazine  with three beautiful digis from

I did a feature which included some handy tips about creating your own backgrounds for your stamped images!
Here's how I made this cute card!

1.With the 12.5cm circle die create a white card blank with the fold at the top.  With the same die create a square of design paper the same size and fix it to the card blank.  Set aside

2.Print the Breeze digi at a height of about 10cm.  With the 11.5cm circle die cut out the image and colour it with alcohol markers as shown.

3.Create a cloud template with card using the Up In The Clouds die set.
Use the cloud template to mask the background as you apply Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide.
Starting at the top of the design move the template from left to right carefully adding the distress oxide with a brush or sponge as you go.

4. Tear a strip of vellum approximately 14.5cm x 6cm and emboss it with the clouds embossing folder.  Layer the vellum and the coloured design onto the card blank set aside earlier.

5. With black ink stamp the Special Friend sentiment onto white card .  Cut the words out with sharp scissors and fix to the top right of the card design as shown.

Top Tip: - When using Distress Ink on the background start with a very small amount of ink on your blending sponge or brush – it is easy to build the colour up but you can’t take it away if you go in too heavy handed to begin with!
