Exciting News

Good Evening...

I want to start this post by saying an enormous thank you to my lovely family, friends and new crafting pals (you know who you are!), who so far have helped, supported and followed me since I set off on my 'adventures in blogland' in February.

This is just a quick update to let you all know that I have been chosen to be part of
a Design Collective, a team of 30 crafty ladies set up by Lili of the Valley to showcase their gorgeous products.

This is really exciting news and I am over the moon and very proud to be part of the team.

I am so looking forward to sharing some LOTV loveliness with you soon...

Easter Sweeties...

Good Morning...
Easter sweeties...aren't they just!  I absolutely love this stamp from Lili of the Valley and if I had to choose only one of these little chicks to take home it would be the little mischief maker who is after the worm!  Totally adorable!

I stamped this image with Memento Ink on Make It Colour Blending Cardstock.  I coloured it with a selection of my lightest coloured Copics and for the first time filled in the whole background!  That was a wobbly experience...time spent carefully colouring and then I go and 'scribble' around it!

I thought I would have another go at making a rocker card.  There's something about that layout that really suits an image where the little cuties are on the move.

I used Spellbinders Grand Nestabilities circles to die cut the base of the rocker card and a Xcut ovals die for the image and the top layers.  I tried to position the ovals to make the top look vaguely 'egg' shaped.

I used plain cardstock from Papermania and embossed the cream layer with dots.  The flowery paper is from Maya Road Vintage Spring Basics.

Finally, I embellished the image with some teeny tiny roses from Wild Orchid Crafts and twine and a heart button from The Ribbon Girl.

Here we are...

Ahoy There...

Good Morning...

What better way to spend a wet and blustery Sunday than making and blogging!  It is currently so wet in Beckford that we could very well soon be in need of a lighthouse like the one on today's card!

I went on a bit of a 'pencil' flight of fancy when I made today's card; I remained totally sensible with my choice of gorgeous Tiddly Inks Digi - Light My Life;
I had already decided to go CAS and then...
I used my Prismacolor pencils in earnest for the first time ever...dreamland or what!  I decided to go for it and use the same colouring method I use with copics, colouring dark to light and respecting the shade... (hopefully)

Anyway, I have to say a big thank you to Jen Nelson at The Tiny Blue Butterfly for being so inspirational.  I saw some colouring Jen had done with Prisma's and really fell in love with it.

So, today's card is a Tiddly Inks digital image - Light my Life, printed direct to the card and recklessly coloured in with Prismacolor pencils.  I finished off with two strips of card from the Carte bella 'Ahoy There' range and some red and white bakers twine with a sailing ship charm.

so 'me hearties', today's card, here we have it...

Happy Days...

Good Morning...

Really pleased to report that there is happy news here at the tanglemouse house!

This is my first blog post as a member of the Design Team at Creative Inspirations - I am over the moon to be asked by Natalie to join in and really looking forward to it.

This weeks challenge at Creative Inspirations is Feathered Friends/Animals.  This is such a fun challenge for the week before Easter and a great time to let creativity go into overdrive!  The prize for the lucky winner is a £20 gift voucher from Hey Little Magpie

On we go then - my DT card for this week's challenge -

I used a lovely Lili of the Valley Stamp - 'Armfuls of Daisies', I really like the expression on this little rabbit's face as he resolutely marches on to deliver the flowers, scattering a few on the way!  I thought this image was perfect for a rocker card, which is something I have never made before- first time for everything!  (On reflection, I would probably make the 'rocking' part a bit larger next time though).

I used Spellbinders Grand Nestabilities Dies to cut the elements of my rocker card which is all circles.

I coloured the image with Copics and used papers by Lili of the Valley from the Up, Up and Away Pastel Dreams range to mount the image and create layers.

I die cut some floral sprays and a ribbon from the papers and finally I added flowers from The Ribbon Girl along with some adhesive gems by Papermania

...and here we are...my first DT card...armfuls of daisies...everywhere!

Pink is not just a colour...

Good afternoon...

Pink is not just a colour, it's an attitude...apparently and according to Miley Cyrus!  Well,  they do say you learn something new everyday!

Today's card is made with a lovely Sugar Nellie rubber stamp - 'Fifi Goes Shopping'.
I have coloured her with copics and gone for a more simple layout using die cut card.  I added the sentiment myself using Kristen ITC font in dark grey.

The die cuts are mounted on a 6 x 6 inch card blank by Craft UK - I coloured the edge of the card which peeks out with a copic marker

Finally, I added some pink baker's twine and a heart charm from the The Ribbon Girl and some pink shimmer domes by Papermania.

Here we are then - Fifi, in pink...

Spring has Sprung...

Good Afternoon...

....and what a super one it is for the first day of spring!

I could n't resist making this card, everything about it just seemed to match 'today'.

I have used a lovely Lili of the Valley Stamp 'spring bunny with daffs' which I have coloured with copics.  I really tried to go for a clean and springlike look to match the lovely weather so I resisted the temptation to add lots of layers and embellishments.  (That took a bit of chocolate I can tell you)!

I used a single piece of core'dinations whitewash collection card stock which I embossed with clouds and rubbed down with a sanding tool.  I mounted the coloured image on the card and added a piece of green saddlestitch ribbon from my 'collection'.

Finally I added a pretty green blossom from The Ribbon Girl and some flower buttons and embellishments from my trinket box.

Here we are - a 'sprung' spring bunny...

Walking on the beaches...

Good morning...

Happy Monday, I hope everyone has recovered from yesterday's Mum's day excitement.  I am up and at 'em early today as my youngest son Als, has his driving test later and I am definitely more nervous than he is.

Today's card is made with a lovely Tiddly Inks digital image - Bathing Beauty.

I am a total fan of Tiddly Inks.  (In fact in general I love digi's because there are so many ways to work with them and storage is a doddle which means there is more room left in my cluttered craft space for lots of other goodies)!

Tiddly Inks digi's are so lovely to craft with.
I have such a soft spot for them and am quite overwhelmed that I have featured as a winner, and also in the Fabby Friday top three on Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog in my first month of blogging!  I am very certain it is beginner's luck!

Anyway, back to Bathing Beauty.  I have coloured her in with copics and then used card and papers from Graphic 45 'By The Sea' to mat and layer her up.

I then very lightly distressed the edge of the image with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.  (I still find that a bit scary, it is quite a difficult technique for me but practice as they say makes perfect)

Finally, I have used twine, charms and cheesecloth from The Ribbon Girl, along with buttons, dots and pearls from my trinket box as embellishments.
And here we are - Bathing Beauty, I can hear the waves and smell the sea already!

A Pirate King...

Good Morning...

I don't usually post two days running but this little chap deserves an outing!  I really love these Pink Gem Digi's.  They are so lovely to colour and I love the end result which I think just seems to suit the way I colour...

Today's card is made with a Digi Stamp by Pink Gem Designs - 'Pirate Andy'.  I have coloured him with copics then layered him up with Carte Bella Papers from the 'Ahoy There' series.

Finally I added some Bakers Twine from Live and Love Crafts and a little anchor charm from Pink Tulip Creations.

He has made me smile, and on the run up to Mother's day made me think about my own boys (well blokes now really)...They make me smile, particularly when they ask if they can to choose a card from one of those I have made to give me on Sunday!  It definitely is the thought that counts and as I always say...'I didn't have them not to love them"!

Say hello to 'Pirate Andy', his little four legged companion and of course, his parrot...xxx

Strolling Along...

Good afternoon...

I just love this Lili of the Valley stamp - Emma - Walkies - such a picture of glamour as she strolls along with her two faithful friends.  I, of course look nothing like that when I walk our pair!  I look more like I have been pulled through a hedge backwards, which is something my lovely girls easily help me achieve!

Todays card, is then, of course, the adorable Emma - Walkies by Lili of the Valley.  I have coloured her with Copics after stamping her with my new discovery, Expresso Truffle coloured Memento Ink.

I have layered the image up with papers from LOTV Taster Packs - Always and Forever Solids and Country Meadow.

I have punched out some little flowers from the same papers and used those, along with some embellishments from my trinket box to decorate the card.

Finally....(scary bit)! - I used a fine liner to add faux stitching along the outside of the papers to match the die cuts.

Emma - so delightfully pink and girlie! Don't you just want to smile?

Tea for Two or A Day At The Races

Good afternoon...

A day at the races has nothing at all to do with today's card but everything to do with the first day of The Cheltenham Festival which is happening about 15 minutes away from my house!  Boy do we love this week - as long as we don't need to drive anywhere!

On to today's card...
I have used one of the new Stamping Bella 'Woodsies Collection' stamps - 'Maisy and Madeleine have some tea'.  I was so excited when this stamp arrived from Quixotic Paperie on Saturday, I knew it would n't be long before it was on a card!

I have coloured this adorable duo with copic markers and gone for a more clean and simple card using some papers from my stash.  These have been die cut for the border and punched into teeny tiny flowers.  I have used twine and a wooden button from The Ribbon Girl and have decorated the flowers with some silver stickles.  Finally, I have used sentiment tags from lovely Lili of the Valley.

here we are... Maisy and Madeleine....xxx

A Vintage Affair...

Good Evening...

'A Vintage Affair'...that sounds like the title of a Midsomer Murder plot to me!

You'll be relieved to hear that there will be no murders here!  I chose the title today to reflect the fact that I carefully searched my trinket box to make this card.  I am very lucky to live near to the venue for the annual Cotswold Vintage Fair, and over the years have bought some lovely old bits and pieces, perfect for twiddling with and adding to my cards.  This card has an old piece of vintage lace, a vintage pearl button and vintage flower charm attached.

Todays card is cut out using a template stencil from Dutch Doobadoo - 'four petals'.  I have used some of the images from a gorgeous set of Stempelglede rubber stamps -  'Postcard from Paris' to decorate the watercolour card backgrounds, and painted the main image with Twinkling H20's, (it is a shame the twinkly effect isn't caught on camera because it looks rather pretty).  I sprinkled a little Frantage around the edge of the image.

I have decorated the card with twine, cheesecloth, a princess pin and flowers from The Ribbon Girl.
The lace, pearl button and flower charm are real vintage findings and the wooden heart button is from Live and Love Crafts.

and here we are...a card that really is a vintage affair...
