Polka Dot Pals Vera and Imogen - Whimsy Stamps

Happy Monday friends.

I hope you had a peaceful and Happy Easter weekend.

Ours has been lovely and today it is snowing!  o-:

Today's card is one that has been on my mind to make for a while.

I knew I would have to commit some quiet time to it and this weekend seemed perfect for that!

I have used some of my favourite images, Polka Dot Pals by Barbara Sproatmeyer for

I also had to engage my technical brain and do some mirror image stamping!
I meant to take some pics to show you how I did it but I got so caught up in the process and excited by the fact that it worked so well that I completely forgot! /-:
I'll take some next time!
I had a few panicky moments - adding the background definitely bought me out in a sweat and I have always found hair a particular challenge!

I want to say a big thank you to lovely Barbara for creating these beautiful images and for always being so lovely and inspirational!

Here's a few WIP photos so you can see what a jumble of pens and pencils I always work in! (:

I mainly used Copic Markers and added some details with Prismacolor Pencils.  (I'll add the details of the colours I used at the end of this post for you).

Polka Dot Pals Vera in a Fairy Garden - Whimsy Stamps

Happy Fri-Yay friends!

I hope this week has been kind to you!

Today I have been mixing it up with some new and older
First I cut a piece of Kraft Card 21.5cm x 8.5cm.

I stamped Vera onto the card in brown ink and coloured her with Copics and Primacolor Pencils.
Confession Time - She was supposed to be coloured solely in Copics but I stamped her on the Bazzill Kraft Card by mistake - which is nt good for Copics! /-:  Fortunately I managed to rescue her with my pencils!
(I'll pop a list of the colours I used at the end of this post)

I die cut the frame for the card using the
and fixed it to the outside of the design.

Next I used the
to die cut kraft card and coloured the toad stools in Copics and pencils.  I fixed them together and added the dots with a white gel pen.

I layered the toadstools onto the card design as shown with

I coated the gorgeous die cut fairies in glitter and added them to the design.  I also added some dots of glitter around them to look as if they were blowing fairy dust at Vera!

Finally I stamped the sentiment from the
on to the design as shown.

Polka Dot Pals Mason - Whimsy Stamps New Release ...

Hello friends,

I hope today is kind to you and that you and those that you love are staying safe and well.

We have a wonderful
new release today featuring a gorgeous image by Barbara Sproatmeyer
The Polka Dot Pals range are such beautiful stamp sets, they come with a selection of images so you can make your own scene, and also have extra add ons so you can create the faces just how you want them!

I loved making this card...

First I stamped
in black ink onto card suitable for alcohol markers and coloured her with Copic Markers
Skin - E71, E11, E21, E51, E50
Eyes - E37, E35, E33
Hair - E47, E44, E42
Clothes - B28, B23, B21, C3, C1, C0, R85, R81

Then I cut her out and set her to one side while I created the background.

I want to say a big thank you for Mindy Baxter at My Creative Scoop for the background inspiration and the Distress Ink rainbow colour scheme.

I created the background by first blending Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink over the top and bottom portions of the card leaving a gap for the rainbow.

Then I cut a template with a
and used it to create the rainbow by starting at the top and blending distress oxides in this order...
Worn Lipstick, Dried Marigold, Scattered Straw, Tumbled Glass, Evergreen Bough and Shaded Lilac.

I then die cut the sun and some clouds using one of my favourite die sets,

I stamped a sentiment from the retired Happy Sky Clear Stamp Set
on to one of the clouds and fixed it to the card as shown overlapping it with a vellum cloud and the sun.
I fixed the clouds and sun to the side of the card so they overlapped the edge and carefully trimmed them off afterwards.

I cut a piece of glitter card to create the ground and the fixed Mason to the design with

Finally I layered the design onto a piece of glitter card cut out with the
(Wonderful Whimsy Stamps were the originators and innovators for this fabulous range of slimline dies)!

Finally I added some
I love this card - might have to make another! (:

You are my happy place...

Happy Monday friends,

I'm back today to show you another gorgeous new release goodie from wonderful

I'm really chuffed with this card, I decided to just dive in and stat colouring the background without over thinking it!  I'm really happy with how it came out!

The first thing I did was mask Harley's foot by placing a piece of tape over it on the stamp before I inked it up.  Then I removed the tape and stamped Harley on a piece of alcohol marker suitable card.

Then I masked Harley's legs (I use Eclipse Masking Tape - it's the best I have found by a country mile)!

I then stamped the stream over Harley's legs so it looks like he is dipping his foot in the water!

I die cut the image with the largest
and went on to colour it with Copics.
Sky - BG000, B000
Clouds - BG11, C1, C0
Trees/Ground - G21, G20, YG61, YG63
Water - BG78, B95, B91
Skin - E04, E11, E00, E000
Hair - E29, E25, E33, E31, E50
Clothes - E97, Y19, Y15, YR16, W9, W7, BG78, BG75, BG72

I then layered the design onto a piece of polka dot design paper from the
using

Finally I die cut a piece of white card with a die from the
and stamped a sentiment on it from the

I added the sentiment to the design with
as shown.
