Don't laugh!...

Hello everyone, Happy Saturday!

I was so thrilled to recently be asked to create three cards for 

Creative Stamping Magazine 

using some gorgeous 

Whimsy Stamps

digis by Crissy Armstrong

Lovely Nicky, the editor has allowed me to share one of the cards with you!

I picked my favourite of the three, a card made with 

Don't Laugh - Digital Stamp by Chrissy Armstrong

Here's how to make this card!...

Create a 11cm x 14cm white card blank with the fold at the side.  With the largest 

Hand Stitched Die 

create a square of design paper the same size and fix it to the card blank.  Set aside

Print the 

Don't Laugh digi.  

(There is no need to resize as Whimsy digis import and print at the desired size).  With the 12cm x 9cm 

Hand Stitched Die 

cut out the image and colour it with alcohol markers as shown.  Place the image back into the die and distress the edges with Scattered Straw Distress Ink. Fix the image to the card design set aside earlier.

With the 

Smile Large Word Die 

cut a piece of white card and fix underneath the image as shown.  Randomly dot 

stickles 

around the tip of the coloured image.

With a 

Quick Strips Die 

cut a piece of white card and stamp the Happy Birthday sentiment from the 
Old Geezer Clear Stamp Set
onto it with black ink. Fix the sentiment above the image to the right as shown.

I've come over all nostalgic this morning with a gorgeous new release image by Jennifer Dove for 

Whimsy Stamps

Rustic Covered Bridge Rubber Cling Stamp

This gorgeous image has been stamped in black and painted with watercolours (Tombows).

I trimmed it with a die from the 

Envelope Edgers Die Set

and set it on a pice of design paper with some cheesecloth.

I used the 

Special Large Word Die

and the 

Your My Jolly Clear Stamps

to create the sentiment.

Finally I added some clouds die cut with the 

Up In The Clouds Die Set

I'm back today with another fabulous new release image from

Create Magic Clear Stamps by Dustin Pike

I stamped this gorgeous wizard in black ink and coloured him with 

Copic Markers

Skin E04, E21, E00, E000

Hair W6, W4, W2, W0

Purple BV08, V25, V22

Green BG23, B11

I used the beautiful new release

Wavy Stitched Squares Dies

to create a background and a mat to layer my design onto.

The background is created by using the largest cloud from the 

Up In The Clouds Die Set

to make the template for creating the clouds with

Tumbled Glass  and Shaded Lilac Distress Ink

I die cut a make a wish sentiment from the 

Create Magic Clear Stamp set 

I used the 

Quick Strip Die Set 

to cut a stitched banner and added the make a wish sentiment from the 

Create Magic Clear Stamp set 

With the Upon A Star Die Set I die cut stars in golds and purples.

I assembled the card design as shown, finishing it with some 

Star Dust Stickles

Bunny Buddies...

Hello everyone!

I hope it's a happy Monday for you!

Today is the first day of 

Whimsy Stamps 

April New Releases!

Buckle up because there are some corkers!

I'm starting off by showing you the cutest set of bunnies by our lovely Deb Davis

Bunny Buddies Clear Stamp Set

I stamped these gorgeous 

Bunny Buddies 

with black ink and used watercolours - Tombows - to paint them.

Then I die cut the image and added some 

Star Dust Stickles Glitter Glue

Next I layered the image onto a piece of dotty design paper and tied a ribbon around it.

I finished off by adding the Happy Birthday sentiment from the 

Bunny Buddies 

stamp set which I cut out with the

Quick Strips Die Set

Hugs for Penguin Ray...

Hello everyone,

Today's post is special and tinged with sadness and admiration!

At

Whimsy Stamps

 our lovely Crissy Armstrong has drawn the most beautiful image to honour her brother Ray who is undergoing treatment for cancer - she has called this little fella

Penguin Ray

The thoughts and prayers of the Whimsy family are with Crissy, Ray and their family - cancer is *insert rude word* cruel and heartbreaking!

All proceeds from the sale of this very special digi image are going to 
The Make A Wish Foundation Of Canada

I printed 

Penguin Ray

onto Bockingford HP Card and masked him with Masking Sheet.

I created a blended Distress Oxide background with Wilted Violet and Blueprint Sketch and flicked water and Perfect Pearls over it to give some texture.

I die cut the image with the largest 

Pierced and Stitched Circles Die

and coloured 

Penguin Ray

with Polychromos, adding a few white dots to the chemo bag.

I die cut a tag and stamped the a sentiment from from the 

Halloweeners Clear Stamp Set 

onto it.  (I really like that sentiment and thought it was perfect for this card)!

I layered the image onto a larger circle, added the tag and painted some Glossy Accents on his beak.

I stamped this gorgeous 

Dragon Egg Rubber Cling Stamp 

with Memento Expresso Truffle ink on Kraft Card and coloured him with Caran d'Ache Luminance pencils

Blue - 660 Middle Cobalt, 662 Genuine Cobalt

Green - 180 Malachite Green, 214 Beryl Green, 182 Cobalt Green

Pink - 571 Rose Anthraquinone

White/Grey - 001 White, 842 Raw Umber, 906 Sepia 50%

I die cut the image with 

Whimsy Stamps Pierced and Stitched Die Set.  

I made a cloud template with the largest cloud die from the 

Whimsy Stamps Up In The Clouds Die Set 

and used it to create clouds on the Kraft card background by dabbing it with ColorBox Frost White ink.  I want to say thank you to Paula Williamson @paulabella for the inspiration for that particular idea.

I die cut two Kraft card clouds with the 

Up In The Clouds Die Set 

and stamped the you're special sentiment on them from the

You're Too Kind Clear Stamp Set by Deb Davis

I fixed the clouds to the card design as shown and added some white dots with a white gel pen.  I also painted some parts of the dragon with liquid glitter.

I die cut a larger 

Pierced and Stitched Die 

and layered the card design on to it.

I used the largest 

Pierced and Stitched Die

to create a circular card blank.

(Remember to place the top of the circle die above the fold of your card as it goes through your die cutting machine)!
