Fly Away Home

Good Evening...

Well, I am definitely on a roll this weekend...I have had such a lovely time crafting, relaxing, dog walking ahhh...is it next weekend yet?  I don't know why I'm saying that when I am lucky enough to be retired, but I do think there is still something special about Saturday and Sunday
Today's card is made with a lovely digital stamp from Tiddly Inks - 'Cute-ilicious'.
I have coloured this little lady with Copics and used card from Papermania and papers from Dovecraft to create mats and layers.

I used a pretty Magnolia die to cut some of the edges and added burlap ribbon, twine, flowers and charms.

I must mention my lovely blogging friend Sarah from Mallows Crafty Bits who has just made a card using a technique I had completely forgotten about!  Sarah used a Versamark pen and clear embossing powder to heat emboss part of an image to make it shiny.  I have borrowed that technique here to make the little ladybirds look glossy.  I know it is possible to use glossy accents but they take a while to dry; the benefit of the Versmark technique is I think that it is immediately safe and not likely to get mussed up!  Thank you Sarah!

I have had a bit of a photo malfunction, for some reason that escapes me the yellow background on this card look flourescent - apologies for that, it is not the intended finish!

Anyway, flourescent background aside, here is my latest card,
a cute-iliciuos little girl with a ladybird on a string about to fly away home!

Retired?....you only look 21 in your profile snap!! Such a lovely card Sue, a super image and gorgeous colours. Thanks too for the "shout out"....(blush), that's the wonder of blogland there's always some thing new or a reminder of a long forgotten favourite. Your little ladybirds are gorgeous by the way and I love the buttons and charm across the corner. xx

Ooh your colouring of this little cutie is so gorgeous Sue... a truly gorgeous card! And yes, I remember that technique too!! But I think it would take me longer to dig out my embossing powders and heat gun etc than it would for the glossy accents to dry... !

I agree about weekends... My OH works every other weekend - and somehow, I get bored and at times lonely on those days - whereas if it's a weekday, I'm fine!! hehe

Big hugs

Oh my gosh, I am so envious of all you lucky retired peeps...ok, I am not wishing my life away but something to look forward to eh?!

I think I would go for 'zingy' or 'vibrant' to describe the colours on your card Sue because whilst they are bright, they are really lovely :-)
I adore your clever use of twine here too - the border is such a fab idea and your diagonal charm and button line is super cute :-)

Back to my manic Monday in work...bet you don't miss that!

Big hugs, Kat xx
