Whimsy Stamps - Piggies Background Stamp

 Hello friends...

Well! ... isn't the weather a very pleasant surprise in the UK South West!  I hope you are enjoying it as much as I am!

Today I have a card to show you with a new release 

Whimsy Stamps goodie!

Piggies Background Rubber Cling Stamp

I don't make many 'get well soon cards', and consider myself lucky to not have needed many in the last year or so!

I mixed the 

Piggies Background Rubber Cling Stamp

with some older Whimsy Stamps products make my card.

I created the background by stamping and heat embossing the piggies stamp in white onto a piece of teal coloured card.

I stamped the piggies from the 

Get Well Clear Stamps Set (Dustin Pike) 

in black ink onto a piece of card suitable for alcohol markers and coloured him with Copic Markers.  (List of colours at the end of this post)  I then cut him out.

I die cut a piece of white hammered card with my favourite frame die

Wonky Stitched Rectangles Die Set

and cut an aperture in it with a die from the 

Pierced and Stitched Circles Die Set

I then stamped sentiments from the Get Well Clear Clear Stamps Set onto dies cut with the 

Comic Speech Bubbles Die Set

and

Quick Strips Die Set

Finally I assembled the card as shown using

Stamping Bella - 'I Do', Brett and Brenda Get Married

 Happy Fri-Yay friends!

I hope the week has been kind to you and you have happy plans for this Bank Holiday Weekend!

Today I have some wedding invitations to show you!

I don't generally take commissions but I simply could nt say no to my lovely friend and her now hubby!

After some very easy going consultation we decided to use some beautiful stamps from

and a sentiment from

Colorado Craft Company  Ever Thine by Anita Jeram

...and here's a close up for you...

I love the elegance and simplicity of my friend Kate's choice.  The clean and simple designs along with the coloured images works perfectly in my view!

The images were stamped in black ink onto card suitable for alcohol markers and then coloured with Copic Markers.  (I'll pop a list of the colours I used at the end of this post for you).

I cropped Brett and Benda to make a smaller design which worked well considering both designs together.

Important note here if you consider something similar - I used the same white card to create the layers as I used for the coloured images.  

Not all white card is the same colour and hue - I discovered this ages ago in an horrendous 'white on white' card challenge which looked awful in the end because I had used different card textures and the whites were a mile off when looked at together!

I stamped the sentiments in grey ink as it looked a little gentler than using black.

Whimsy Stamps - Mermaid Escape and Wonky Windows

Happy Friday friends,

I hope you've had a good week this week!  The weather in the Gloucestershire has been awful which is a mixed blessing because at least it makes for plenty of crafty time! (:

I have made a Mer-May card using a fabulous new release die from 

Whimsy Stamps

Wonky Window 4 Die

and mixing it up with an older goodie - 

Mermaid Escape Clear Stamps 

I made a shaker card which is something I haven't done for aaaages! - the Wonky Window dies are perfect for Shaker cards!

I created two inky background with Lindy's Stamp Gang Magic Powders

I then die cut one inky piece and used the other for the card background.

I stamped the gorgeous mermaid directly onto the background and coloured her with Copics.  (You can colour Copics over watercolour but if you are uncertain please do your own swatch test first)!

I then created the shaker part of the card using heavy weight acetate, Sparkletz and Sprinkletz.

I stamped the sentiment from the Mermaid Escape Stamp Set onto one of the panels I saved when I die cut the wonky window and then placed the panel back in the aperture.

Finally I added some Starry Sky Sparkletz.

Octopi Guys - Whimsy Stamps

I have a really fun stamp set to show you today, a new release from

Whimsy Stamps

Octopi Guys Clear Stamps by Dustin Pike

There are three Octopi Guys stamps in this set and they are real characters!

There are so many card making possibilities with them!  I decided to go with a belated Birthday Card theme.

The Octopus is stamped on Kraft card and coloured with Copic Markers, I'll pop a list at the end of this post for you.

I teamed the stamp with some other Whimsy Stamps goodies to make my card.

...and, there are also matching outline dies for this stamp set (Octopi Guys Die Set) which I have nt used here but which are useful if like me you are not a happy fussy cutter!
