This is a bit different to the cards I usually make but variety is the spice of life - eh?  (;

Only one little tip here - if you are doing a white on white design make sure you use all the same brand of card for the white bits - you would not believe how many versions of white there are!

Speckled Background Rubber Cling Stamp - Whimsy Stamps

 Happy Saturday friends!

I hope you are all well and your weekend has happy plans!

I am off to London tomorrow to see my youngest son Als and we are going to see Hamilton for the second time!  I am waaaaay too excited already! 

In the meantime, I am containing myself by sharing a couple of my favourite makes so far this year!

Wonderful Whimsy Stamps have released an absolutely fabulous background stamp, perfect for so many card making ideas but especially great for someone like me who LOVES making Winter themed and Christmas cards!

Speckled Background Rubber Cling Stamp

This card was so lovely to make, and quick!

I cut a wavy line into a piece of masking paper and starting at the horizon and working down I very gently blended Distress oxides over the card to create the sky and the hills in the snow.  I used a really light touch for this so that the ink faded away into the background.

I stamped that fabulous tree in black ink.

I stamped and heat embossed the gorgeous speckled background in white.

Finally I stamped the sentiment as shown, again in black ink.

I made three cards in this style, to be honest I could have played all day and made dozens!  The possibilities are endless, especially if you are after a quick and effective card.

Big and Bold Winter Wishes Snowflake - Colorado Craft Company at Dies To Die For

 Hello everyone,

I hope this week is being kind to you!

I'm here today to show you some Christmas cards (because I am never done with Christmas)!

I absolutely loved making these.  The layout was inspired by Colorado Craft Company DT (BIG thanks) - but for my cards, I created my own backgrounds and used some odd bits of old design paper.

My favourite of this set was heat embossed in silver onto a background I created by using a brayer to add Stoneblue Catherine Pooler Ink onto card.  I then lightly splashed the card with white acrylic paint.

I finished the card by adding a white heat embossed sentiment on black card and some clear droplets.  (I cut little banners myself)

These two are stamped onto a rather ancient piece of design paper - I knew I kept it for a reason! 

...and to mix it up a bit I stamped this one onto another senior piece of design paper and heat embossed it in glittery gold embossing powder, finally adding some gorgeous gold droplets.

I'm whizzing by today with a slimline card made with a beautiful new image from 

Jennifer Dove - DoveArt 

for

Loon Scene Rubber Cling Stamp

The background is created with Distress Oxides and I fussy cut the top of the Loon Scene to fit over it.

The image itself is coloured with Copics.

I added vellum die cuts of clouds and the wavy foreground, (Which was done with an embossing folder).

Finally I added a glittery frame and a stamped sentiment.

I'm back today with some more 

Whimsy Stamps

new release gorgeousness.

If ever there was a time to celebrate our health service heroes then we are living in it right now!

Whimsy Stamps have designed some gorgeous stamps with exactly that in mind!

Last time I showed you a card made with the fab Nurses Day Stamp and Die sets.

Today I have made a card which combines two new die sets -

Slimline Heartbeats Die Set

and

Stethoscope Die Set

I created an inky background using Distress Oxides (link at the end of this post to my inky background tutorial)

I then die cut red, navy blue and silver card with the new die sets and assembled the card as shown.

I used the 

Quick Strips Die Set

to cut a small banner and stamped the speedy recovery sentiment from the 

Gnomes Get Well Clear Stamps Set

on to it. 

Finally I added the sentiment to the card design as you can see...

The possibilities for these stamps sets are truly infinite!
