Jar of Hearts...

Hello everyone,  I hope it's a happy Monday! 

I'm here today to share a special card - special because I made it for a lovely friend's birthday!
It was actually one of the most difficult things I have ever coloured because it involved colouring a transparent object!

Hot Chocolate Honey...

Happy Wednesday everyone, 

Before I show you today's card I just want to take a moment to say a massive thank you to you all for the love I received for my last post.  
I am quite overwhelmed by it and your kindness means the world to me as for me, that was a very special card to make and share.

A whiter shade of pale...

Hello everyone!

I'm here today with a fiendish tutorial involving gorgeous 
Whimsy Stamps - Halloweeners stamp set and some frightful colouring! (: o:

As it is now the time of year when we all love colouring ghosts, snowmen, polar bears I thought I would show you how I colour white with my Copics!

The items I have used for this colouring technique are - 
The ghost stamp from Whimsy Stamps - Halloweeners Clear Stamps
Make It Colour Blending Card by Elaine Hughes - Marker Geek
MFT Hybrid Ink Pad in Extreme Black
Copic Markers
W3, W1, W0
C3, C1, C0
BV00, B000, B0000
and 0 Colourless Blender
I decided to colour three ghosts each in different shades to represent white,
Ghost number 1!
 I coloured the areas where the darkest part of my image would be in W00 to provide a base for the darkest colour I'll be using.
It helps to remember that when you colouring something to look white you are not colouring the white areas you are colouring the shaded areas.  My light source is coming from the top right hand side.
Then I coloured on top of the W00 with W3,
...then blended out the W3 with W1,

...then blended out the W1 with W00
...finally I used the Colourless Blender to push back the W00 so there is a smooth blend between the marker and the parts of the image I am leaving as a white space.
Ghost Number 2
 I coloured the areas where the darkest part of my image would be in C0 to provide a base for the darkest colour I'll be using.
Again, my light source is coming from the top right hand side.
Then I coloured on top of the C0 with C3,
...then blended out the C3 with C1,
...then blended out the C1 with C0,
...finally I used the Colourless Blender to push back the C0 so there is a smooth blend between the marker and the parts of the image I am leaving as a white space.

Ghost Number 3
(Thank you to Elaine Hughes - Marker Geek for the colour combination for this one)!
I coloured the areas where the darkest part of my image would be in B0000 to provide a base for the darkest colour I'll be using.
Again, my light source is coming from the top right hand side.
Then I coloured on top of the B0000 with BV00,
...then blended out the BV00 with B000 and blend out the B000 with B0000,
, ...finally I used the Colourless Blender to push back the B0000 so there is a smooth blend between the marker and the parts of the image I am leaving as a white space.
I repeated all the above steps to give a real depth of colour.
Here are my three ghosts so far!  What do you think?  Do you have a favourite?
I finished the ghosts off by colouring their shoes and adding white highlights with a gel pen.
I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial, colouring white is so useful, not only can you colour ghosts, snow, animals, you can also use exactly the same technique for colouring white clothes and flowers!

Contemporary Colours for Christmas...

Hello everyone!

Here we are on day two of our exciting release week at

Now, you may know that I am a bit of a stickler for traditional Christmas colours, your, red's green, golds etc! 
 So ... today's card will be a surprise for you having certainly been a shock for me! (:

Boo!...

Happy 1st September everyone!

....lots of reasons to be happy today!
Firstly in my book it is Autumn so I can think about hibernating and forget about cooking myself in 30+ degree temperatures! (:
Secondly, it is the start of a week of gorgeous new release goodies from
wonderful 

Oh my word - there are some super things to look forward to this week!

I am kicking things off with a fa-boo-lous stamp set from Deb Davis
In all honesty you could make dozens of cards with this amazing set and just never get bored!
I had fun!  I used the new release stamp Woodgrain background to make the coffin lids!

A little note about the papers I used - I have had them for eons and they were gift - I have no idea who designed them - however, cobwebs and stars are pretty standard for Halloween papers so hopefully if you wanted to, you could find something similar!
