Our Queen of Halloween! - Whimsy Stamps Blog Hop

The Halloween weekend is very special for our very own Whimsy Stamps Queen of Halloween -

Deb Davis (Amped2Stamp) (Whimsy Stamps Creative Director)

Deb and her family were caught in Hurricane Ian and it is taking some time for them to get back to any sort of normal life.  They are sadly still without some amenities.

This means, along with daily trials she can do without, our dear Deb has not been able to celebrate her favourite season - Halloween!

At Whimsy Stamps we thought we would do a little something for Deb to remind her how much she means to us and to help brighten the day! - (which as we are celebrating Halloween should probably be 'darken the day' but you know what I mean)!

I created the background using Distress Inks with the stencil as a mask for the horizon line.

I used Snowtex and Glamour Dust to create the snow.

The gorgeous image is coloured with Copics. (Details at the end of this post for you)

I finished the scene off with one of my favourite oversize word dies and a frame.

Autumn Word and Shadow Die - Whimsy Stamps

 Hello everyone,

I hope this week is being kind to you!

I have a gorgeous new die set to show you today from

There is also a Hurricane Ian Update at the end of this post from lovely Denise, owner of Whimsy Stamps

The die is so versatile, and as you can see, I have used the word part on its own for my card.

The background is created with Distress Inks in Crackling Campfire and Speckled Egg.  I blended the inks onto my card stock and then drew a large wet paintbrush through them from left to right to create the lines.

The beautiful pumpkin image is coloured with Copic Markers.  (Details at the end of this post)

Hurricane Ian Update

Orders Now Shipping

Thank you all for your continued support and patience. The Whimsy warehouse now has power and our internet is spotty but working well enough that we were able to start shipping orders Monday and Tuesday. We have everything from Monday afternoon of last week (9/26) through Sunday (10/2) processed and shipped out as of yesterday (10/4). 

We will be going into the office for a few hours each day this week to catch up on all new orders received since Monday (10/3). We are about 2 days behind our normal shipping schedule but expect to be fully caught up by the end of the week, providing we can maintain that internet connection.

We continue to pray for our customers and friends in various communities here in Southwest Florida. Our hearts go out to them as well as all those affected by this horrible storm. Please continue to send prayers and support to all of us here as we recover and rebuild all that was lost. And we could use lots of positives vibes for our Deb Davis as her family is still without power and they're also are having trouble with their water too.

...an update from Denise, lovely owner of Whimsy Stamps...

Whimsy Stamps is located in Southwest, FL which was just hit by Hurricane Ian. Owner, Denise, and her family in Punta Gorda as well as creative director, Deb, and her family in Cape Coral are all okay and safe. Their homes are live-able but did sustain damaged. There is currently no power, water, or internet service, and cell reception is spotty. They would like to thank all of those customers who have reached out expressing their concern and prayers. It’s means a great deal to feel their support. 

The communities of Punta Gorda and Cape Coral, as well as many others in Southwest, FL, have been completely devastated by this powerful hurricane. There truly is no way to describe the severity of the destruction and turmoil this disaster has created for so many.  Some people have lost everything and these communities have only limited access to basic necessities. It will be many weeks and months before these communities are fully recovered, rebuilt, and back to normal. Denise and Deb consider themselves to be extremely lucky to have suffered only moderate property loss and to be safe at home with their loved ones. 

Fortunately, the Whimsy Stamps Boutique and Warehouse only sustained minimal damage. It remains closed until all services are restored and we are able to safely operate. The online website will remain open and customers may continue to shop. Every order our customers place greatly helps to keep our business going and to support our employees and their families.  We ask for your patience and understanding as order processing and shipping may be delayed. We are assessing on a day-to-day basis and will do our best to get fully back up and running as soon as possible.

Although, we have decided to cancel our annual 31 Nights of Halloween event, our October Releases will go live as scheduled.  We hope you will enjoy the new products our team has worked hard designing for you. Customers may purchase only through the website as our boutique will be closed for at least the next couple of weeks. 

We have many customers and friends in various communities here in Southwest Florida, our hearts and prayers go out to them as well as all those affected by terrible hurricane. We thank you all for your continued support.
