Purple Onion Designs Holiday Sale...

I am so happy and proud to have been asked by lovely Michele from
to Guest Design for her
Annual Holiday Sale

This is so exciting for me as I absolutely adore these gorgeous designs!

I had a lovely time deciding which of my stamps to use and really enjoyed creating some cards so be sure to look out for them over the next two weeks while the sale is on!

This card is created with a selection of stamps designed for Michele by Stacey Yacula.

I have used them to create a little scene.

Here some photos to hopefully help explain how I stamped and masked everything.

Before I started the serious business of stamping and masking I did a practice piece on a piece of card where I did nt bother masking, I just stamped everything where I wanted it to be using acetate to line things up.  I then made marks on my stamp platform with tape to make sure I stamped the sleigh and the stable in the same place on my working design.

The first image I stamped was the
I masked the portion of the card where the little dog
would sit and stamped him over the top.
I then placed a piece of acetate over the top of the card and stamped the
onto it.
Then I placed the other stamps on the stamped barn in the position I wanted them to be on my design.  I have used ...
This was made so much easier by using the brilliant
I stamped everything onto the acetate to check its position before I stamped it on to the design.
When I was happy with how the design looked I removed the acetate and then stamped and masked all the gorgeous images.
Then I put the acetate back over the design and lined up the
with the purple tape marks made earlier.  I stamped the barn onto the acetate to check everything was still properly in place.  (Thank goodness for acetate)!
Then I removed the acetate and stamped the Barn Door Background onto the design.
Next came my favourite part - removing the masking tape and colouring the whole scene.

I simply can't tell you how much I enjoyed creating and colouring this scene!
It really is straightforward if you take it slowly and use acetate to check the position of everything before stamping it on your design!

Celebrate...

Happy Thanksgiving to my lovely friends across the pond!

Wishing you all a blessed and restful day with those you love!

Today's card is one of those 'all purpose' cards, you could use for lots of occasions - including Thanksgiving!
I made this card for a photo inspiration feature in November's issue of
Making Card Magazine!

Here's how...

Create a 14cm square card blank with the fold at the side.  Create a square of black glitter card the same size and fix it to the card blank.  Set aside

Create a 14cm square of smooth card and starting in the centre blend the distress oxides outwards in the following order - Scattered Straw, Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean, Seedless Preserves, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot

Fix the stencil over the inky card securing it to the work surface with masking tape.  Spread the Glimmer Paste over the stencil, scrape off the excess.  Carefully remove the stencil and leave the design alone until the paste is completely dry.

Once the paste has dried flick water and Perfect Pearls over the design and allow to dry.

Tear a 17cm x 2.5cm strip of vellum and wrap it around the bottom of the card design as shown, securing it at the back with tape.

On a piece of smooth card blend distress Oxides in Peacock Feathers and Seedless Preserves and Flick with water.  Die cut with the celebrate sentiment and fix to the vellum.

Fix the card design to the card blank set aside earlier.
Ingredients
White Card for card blank
Black Pearlised Glitter Card
Smooth Card Suitable for Blending Distress Inks (I use Strathmore Smooth Vellum Bristol Board)
Distress Oxide in Scattered Straw, Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean, Seedless Preserves, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot
Nuvo Glimmer Paste in Moonstone
Perfect Pearls by Ranger in Perfect Pearl (mixed with a little water)

I'll be gnome for Christmas...

Happy Saturday everyone!

So - I had a plan (as you do) (: ...
to turn the fab
into Christmas Gnomes!

SUCH FUN!

(...and it just goes to show how versatile wonderful Whimsy Stamps are and how you can easily stretch your stash)!

Hope you like this as much as I do!
I stamped this gorgeous gnomie in black ink onto white card.
I used Copic Markers to colour the background first.  I always do it that way round just in case I fluff it up!  Freehand drawing backgrounds is still new to me and I don't always get them how I like them first time round!
I started by colouring outward from the lantern.  I used circular strokes to give the impression of the light from the lamp - although I think to be honest it looks more like the moon!  I decided not to get uptight as either option is fine!  It can be what you want it to be - there are no mistakes in art - right!!

I coloured outward from the lantern with Copics in the following order - Y00, Y02, Y11, B00, B07, B09, B99, and then went back over it a few times to improve the depth and the blend, don't worry too much about it being a totally smooth blend, it really does nt need to be for this background to work!
Once I was happy with the glow/moon (: I coloured the rest of the background with B99 and then added the trees.  They are so straightforward to do, they are basically tall triangles with squiggles coming out of them!

I followed a fabulous tutorial by Sandy Allnock on colouring the trees which you can find
HERE

Once I had finished the background I coloured the rest of the image.

Copic Markers Used
Glow - Y00, Y02, Y11
Sky - B00, B07, B09, B99
Trees - C8
Gnome & Snail R05, R37, R89, W1, W3, W5, E30, E33, E37

I used the following
 sets to create the
sentiment across the bottom of the design.

Finally I added the snowy dots with a white gel pen.
... and remember, a gnome is for life not just for Christmas! (;

I have also used a super new release die

To make my card I blended Distress Oxides in Festive Berries, Worn Lipstick and Scattered Straw over a piece of Stathmore Smooth Vellum Card and splattered it with water and Perfect Pearls.

and reassembled it to create the background.

( I now realise I meant to make the card the other way up with the red part at the top!
Hon-est-leeeee)!!!!

Hello everyone!

Today's card is sweeeeeet! - and involves gingerbread - so what's not to like!!! (;

I have used another of the

Then I die cut the card with the fabulous

Acting Goofy!..

Hello friends,

I'm here today with a goofy girlie birthday card!
I stamped the image onto kraft card and coloured it with Caran D'ache Luminance Pencils.

I trimmed it to the same size as the polaroid die and fixed it to a die cut piece of kraft card.

I die cut another piece of card with one of the rectangle dies and blended Candied Apple Distress Ink over it through the Hearts stencil.  I then scattered some chunky white embossing enamel over hearts and fixed it with a heat gun - from underneath.  (This is important, it stops the card burning and buckling)!

I layered the hearts background onto a slightly large piece of kraft card and added the image.  (The sentiment is from an older Stamping Bella Stamp but you could use any sentiment that took your fancy)!

Finally I stamped a sentiment and die cut it with a Quick Strips Die, sticking it to the bottom right of the design as shown!
