Get Messy!

Good Morning friends, happy Monday!

Before we talk about today's card, I want to tell you about something exciting - well exciting for me anyway!

A recent card of mine got an 'honourable mention' by Michele from Purple Onion Designs on her Design Team's Blog.
You can see it
HERE

This is because I am taking part in as many days as I can of the
30 Day Colouring Challenge at The Daily Marker - it is really good fun so go on...have a go!
Today's card is my 'same but different' project for Sherri Baldy's
My Besties UK

This month we have all used the same gorgeous Sherri Baldy image -
the gorgeous fairy digi img791 which is available
HERE
from Sherri's
My Besties Shop

This is not a challenge just a bit of fun so to have a chance of winning this gorgeous digi, just pop to
and leave a comment for the design team - simples!

The winner will be picked at random on New Challenge day - the first Monday in March.

I have tried quite a few new 'things' on this card.

Firstly, I tried to ombre the colours - it has come out a bit stripy but I like the effect so I will give this a bit more practice.

Secondly I tried an inky background effect I learnt with lovely Faye (stampinfluffnstuff) at my recent Copic Class.  Basically your drop a few drops of Copic refill and a few drops of Copic Blender on a mat and 'swish' (technical term)! some glossy card through it.  I then added some flicks of Copic refill from a paint brush.

Oh yep! Note to self - before flicking ink about the place it is a good idea to put away your iPad, reading glasses, Design Papers - oh and of course the image that you have spent some considerable time colouring! (There are a few dots but I have left them and am pretending it was deliberate sssshhhhh - our secret right)!

Anyways, here we are, sweet ain't she...

  6. She certainly is beautiful Sue, a great job with the ombre colouring too, looks tricky but you pulled it off. Love the background in the bright pink and sounds like fun to create, once you have cleared a space, lol. Hope you enjoy the rest of your week.

  8. Hi Sue.... well done you on your mention at Purple Onion - well deserved of course! Now........ this beauty.... of course, I adore your wonderful colouring (just look at her face for perfection), and I like the smooshing too! I did have a little go a while back, but it wasn't with Copics... I think that'd be far too dangerous in my craft room! Mine was 'wash-out-able' Distress Inks! You really lived dangerously with the flicking....... but wow - it looks so good!

    Big hugs
