You could be forgiven for thinking that I have a bit of a soft spot for anything with a nautical theme! I certainly have, and when my ship comes in (there I go again!), I fully intend to move to my beloved Dorset! However, whilst my ship is still a distant dot on the horizon I will make do with as much sea inspiration as I can muster!
Today's card is made with a stamped Magnolia image - 'Tilda With Anchor' coloured with Copic Markers and distressed around the edge with walnut stain distress ink.
I then mislaid my marbles and got totally carried away making Tilda a boat to set sail on!
Tilda's 'boat' is based on a rocker card made with Spellbinders Grand Nestabilities dies. I have used kraft card, Core d'Inations cardstock and papers from the Carte Bella 'ahoy there' range to mat and layer the boat, sails and image. I used some 'ancient' embossing folders (Cuttlebugs I think), to make swirls and stars.
I have added some nautical embellishments, including a message in bottle! (I have had those little bottles for ages - knew they would be useful one day!). I added some shimmer domes and adhesive gems along with twine and buttons. (The blue anchor button is I think as old as I am and is from my beloved Mum's button box)!
Finally I set about things with the dreaded texture paste... I refuse to be beaten! I just thought it suited things.
And here we are, Tilda With Anchor, sailing somewhere beyond the sea...
