L is for Last Minute!

Good morning lovely friends,

Phew what a scorcher we have had here for the last few days - hope you have all managed to keep your cool! (-:

I want to apologise to you all for not getting round your lovely blogs recently.  Life has been really busy this month.  My youngest has come home from Uni and I had obviously forgotten how much work boys are!

Plus, we have a big fundraising 'Open Village' event for our church every two years and it takes up an enormous amount of time.  It was last weekend.  The weather was a massive bonus and we had a fabulous time but I am still trying to recover - I look like a very hot and tired tomato!

We have a new challenge today at ABC Christmas Challenge and it is
Anything beginning with L
(Anything Christmas that is)!

What a fab challenge, there are so many fun Christmas things begin with L
Lantern, Lamp, Lights, Laughter, Logs, Lapland, Ladies dancing, Lords a leaping, Love, Late night shopping, Leftovers - go for it peeps! I bet you can come up with some really clever Christmas L's!

Our sponsor this time is wonderful
Krista Heij Barber
and the lucky winner will be able to choose three images from Krista's lovely etsy store

I have tried something a little different for this card.

I decided that in my Christmas world L was for Last Minute!

I thought this elegant gent looked like he was in a rush so I created a distress Ink background, stamped him onto it and added some snow...

Simples eh! errrrr not!

I might run a competition for you all to guess how many times the background got crumpled up in the corner!

I got there in the end...and let's hope this lovely gent gets to his Christmas Party too!

Stunning card Sue, the colours are gorgeous. I feel your frustration - I usually have something go wrong when I'm making a 'simple' card. Well done for persevering, it was well worth it
Hugs,
Katrina xx

What a fabulous card, love the vibrant colours and CAS design. I agree about the time taken for 'simple' cards, they are never quick when I try them. I hope you didn't throw away your other pieces that had the crumpled corners, I'm sure they have die cutting potential... oh oh that's my inner hoarder coming out... get back I say! he he.

This is fabulous Sue, what an amazing effect.
The weather has been lovely hasn't it, makes such a difference to those organised events. I can remember so many summer fairs and parades when the kids were little that were a wash out - it's such a shame after all the work that goes into them.

WOW!!! Just stunning, such an effective design with the silhouette against that background...THAT background which is bee-yootiful. I bet the ones in the bin were bee-yootiful too but I know you are only satisfied with sheer perfection...which you ended up with :-)

I'm glad you had a lovely weekend and hope you have had time to chill out today...not literally I bet though since it has been hot hot hot again today!

Big hugs, Kat xx

It's sounds like you've really been busy, Sue! I'm sorry your card gave you a hard time, especially when you were last minute, but the end coloring result is outstanding!!! Hugs, Darnell
