Home Sweet Home...

Well, this is exciting, an extra post from me on a Wednesday!

What's that all about then...?

Well, shhhhh don't tell anyone but today is a special release day for some beautiful new digis from Sherri Ann Baldy.
All of Sherri's gorgeous designs can be found
or

My card is made with image 789-2, an adorable fairy house.

I have coloured this sweet image with copics and used Glossy Accents on the roof and Stickles on the windows to add some magic and sparkle!

I then fussy cut (eeeeek!) the image and mounted it on a night sky background I had made with my Copic Air System.

(Flipping mad here or what! - fussy cutting, masking and air brushing are all new techniques to me!  Good job I like a challenge)!

I added some gold Stickles as stars and a polka dot die cut frame.  Finally I added my current favourite sentiments, chitchat stickers by Tim Holtz.

...and here we are a cute fairy house, vacant possession of course (-; ...

MFT Harvest Mice

Good Morning...

This week's challenge at
is
'Something Sweet'
This week's prize is from PETAL LU and is a
£10 lucky dip!
My 'inner chimp' got hold of me with this card and I went for the healthy option!...
Well, apples, plums and pumpkins - they're sweet - yes?

I made this card using the adorable Harvest Mice set from MFT.
(I know they only had an outing last week but the are way too cute to stay in the 'to do' pile).

I had a bit of a 'mare' with this card though.  I made a purple orange background with my Copic air system and then completely 'fluffed up' stamping the sentiment, grrrr! - did n't have time to do it again so had to go with a paper background.

I coloured these lovely mice with Copics.  I used some papers from LOTV's
Bonnets and Bowties and Romance and Roses collections along with some purple Core'dinations card stock.  The sentiment is from the Harvest Mice Set.

Finally, I added some teeny tiny stars and a wobbly hand drawn doodle! (oh yes, mad or what given the fluffing up of the sentiment)!

...and here they are, the cutest mice ever with their sweet treats...

This Is How I Roll! ...

Good afternoon lovely friends...

Just a quick, 'none card' related post from me to day...

Firstly, I want to say sorry for not being around much this week.

We have had a big and busy week chez Hastead having waved both our boys off to University.

To be frank it has been a bit frantic and more than a touch emotional!

Ian, our eldest is starting year 2 at Birmingham studying Classics and English Literature.

Als our youngest has left home for the first time (sniff, pass the tissues)!

He has gone to Bristol to the British and Irish Insitute of Modern Music to study Music Production and Management.

Very proud Mum and Dad this end.

Our nest is now officially empty!

Feels odd!

Don't know whether to laugh or cry so I will probably just do both at the same time!
Anyway, you are all still in my thoughts, I just have n't quite got around all your lovely blogs, I will try and catch up.

In the meantime, her are few sneaky pictures of the room I use as my craft room, which is really the dining room but we have two other rooms with a dining table in (the kitchen and the  conservatory), so finding somewhere to eat here is n't a problem!

Lovely hubby and boys were very happy to lose the dining room when I retired in 2012.

Hope you like it, it is still a bit of a work in progress, and I know is probably bit 'functional' but I'm not good with clutter (that'll be the Virgo in me)!
Spot the hanger with the wonderful cards I have received from lovely crafting friends - they are a real inspiration!

Thank goodness for Ikea!

Happy Sunday everyone and Happy Crafting

love from
Sue...xxx

If Friends Were Flowers...

Good Morning...

The challenge this time at
is
'For a Friend'

...and the prize for the lucky winner is a
£10 Gift Voucher
from
Handmade Bliss
(Who have a fabulous 20% off sale at the moment).
I tried something completely different for this card (still sticking to that important pink theme though)!

A while ago I treated myself to a Copic Air System...This week, I decided I had looked at it in the box for long enough and unpacked it to have a play.

Well, after going through quite a few sheets of card, several markers, and lots of cups of tea - the background to this card was the result.

More practice needed for certain but what fun!

I used the new MFT Stamp and Die Set 'Harvest Mice' to make this card - fantabulous and cute!  So many different card options I may just go mad.

I coloured this sweetie with Copics and had another go at the stippled fur technique, which still is n't quite right but may be slowly getting there...(I strongly suspect I am too impatient and not letting the ink layers dry before I start with the blender pen)!

The paper for the frame is by Doodlebug Designs and is cut out with an MFT Stitched Frame Die.

Finally I added the little die cut heart and a sentiment from the Harvest Mice stamp set.

...and here we are,
if friends were flowers, I'd pick you...
